Equity charts fail when they hide uncertainty. A narrow gap between two bars looks definitive until someone asks about sample size. We add a footnote row beneath every comparison: cohort count, confidence band, and the academic year boundary.
Language matters as much as geometry. We replace abstract index scores with outcomes people recognise — credits completed, licensure exam pass rate, internship placement within six months.
For boards in Jeju and on the mainland, we provide Korean summary captions alongside English headings when requested. Bilingual labels reduce misreading during fast votes.
Colour is restrained: charcoal baseline, antique gold highlight for the cohort under review, oxidised green only for reference benchmarks. Trustees remember the story, not the palette.
When a gap cannot be explained with current data, we leave white space and note the missing field. Honesty preserves trust through accreditation season.
